The Best Thing to Happen to Lamborghini Was Its Sale to Audi

The best thing to happen to the Lamborghini Huracan? Landing in the hands of AT26 Design.

When a supercar arrives for a makeover, we often find ourselves circling it, scratching our heads and wondering, “What could possibly be done here?” But soon enough, ideas start flowing on how to give its appearance a more aggressive edge. The truth is, as more of these models hit the roads, owners’ gatherings are turning into a game of “find your car in the parking lot among twenty identical ones.” To avoid the scene looking like a Skoda Octavia fan meet, we decided to come up with a few options.

In this case, we were inspired by the owner’s idea. He aimed to create the fastest Huracan Performante on the planet. The fastest car must look unique. After the Huracan entered the DTM racing series, we decided to borrow some ideas from the GT3 class. It’s worth mentioning that we were working with two special versions: the STO and the Performante, and our development was tailored for both simultaneously.

We equipped the car with a set of side skirts with winglets at the front and a front splitter with winglets borrowed from aviation. To remind you, these winglets or “sharklets” prevent airflow separation due to pressure differences. For high-speed runs and record attempts, the shape was carefully calculated to handle the immense pressure.

The rear of the car, already complex in its technical design from the factory, was left largely untouched out of respect for the Italian and German engineers. We only added small side wings to the bumper.

Modifying cars of this caliber is always a fine balance between beauty and unnecessary additions. If you look at factory solutions from the companies themselves, they always subtly emphasize lines and details. This is the vision we successfully adopted.
